This immersive design journey takes you deep into Little River, Miami’s creative epicenter, on a guided exploration led by a local artist and cultural storyteller. Unlike typical art walks, this experience introduces you to the visionaries who have shaped the neighborhood’s identity—through their studios, galleries, and markets. The tour is designed for anyone curious about creative communities, contemporary design, and the real stories behind Miami’s cultural evolution.
The adventure begins at Plant the Future, a biophilic design studio founded by Paloma Teppa. Here, living installations crafted from moss, tropical plants, and light serve as a gateway to understanding Little River’s origins—from its Lemon City roots to its global reputation. Inside, you’ll engage in a conversation about the creative process, the challenges of building transformative spaces, and the neighborhood’s unique spirit.
Next, you’ll head to B&M Market, a beloved Caribbean grocery and eatery rooted in the community since the 1980s. As you sample authentic Guyanese roti, you’ll hear stories of migration, culinary traditions, and the cultural layering that has defined Little River long before it became Miami’s creative hotspot. This tasting goes beyond food, offering insight into the lived experience and generational heritage that shape the area.
The journey continues through Little River’s vibrant street art corridor, where murals by artists like JonOne and Add Fuel turn city walls into narratives of identity, migration, and transformation. Rather than simply admiring the art, you’ll explore what these works reveal about the neighborhood’s evolving story, reading each mural as a visual dialogue with the community itself. The exploration then leads to Stanek Gallery, a space where you meet curators and, when possible, artists directly. Founded by Katherine Stanek, the gallery’s rotating exhibitions and focus on women artists reflect the diversity and innovation at the heart of Little River. The tour also weaves through hidden concept spaces—floral studios, tea houses, and industrial galleries—each a testament to the area’s dynamic, ever-changing character. Every visit is personalized, with stops chosen for their relevance and vibrancy on the day of your experience. Before concluding, you’ll enjoy a curated pastry tasting at Mama Leone, Little River’s Italian bakery. This moment of pause allows you to process the day’s encounters and appreciate the quieter traditions that underlie the neighborhood’s creative energy. The tour concludes at The Citadel, a food hall and cultural hub housed in a restored 1950s bank building. Here, the neighborhood’s past and future intersect, blending adaptive architecture, communal spaces, and a spirit of innovation reminiscent of Little River’s earliest gathering places.
Your booking covers guided visits to studios, galleries, markets, and tasting experiences at select stops, including Caribbean cuisine and artisanal pastries. Every location is arranged in advance with owners or curators, making each visit exclusive to your group. Meals beyond the scheduled tastings and additional purchases are not included.
The experience unfolds entirely within Little River, a district known for its creative energy, multicultural influences, and dynamic blend of old and new. As you explore, you’ll witness how art, food, and design intersect to tell the layered story of this Miami neighborhood, one recognized globally for its innovative spirit and authentic community.
Group sizes are intentionally kept small to foster genuine interaction and deeper conversations with the neighborhood’s makers. The tour is led in English by a local artist and cultural narrator, with private Hebrew-language tours available for groups upon request. Exact meeting points and final stops are confirmed after booking, as the itinerary adapts to the most vibrant spaces available on the day. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Some locations may not be accessible to those with mobility issues due to the area’s historic buildings. Children are welcome but should be able to engage respectfully with studio and gallery environments.
